Well, someone has decided to spam our blog comments. So we were forced to put some regulatory measures in place to stop the spammers!! Sorry for any inconvenience, but some posers just have to make life a little more difficult for everyone else! Speaking of difficult, Amy Red and I just got back from Vegas again. Not one of our best trips. I got strep throat and I think bronchitis, and Amy Red fractured her foot. All this by the second day in town. We did manage to get some work done and found tons of cool new stuff which you will see shortly on the website. We also did enjoy seeing our buddy Chad from L.A. and thoroughly enjoyed all the giggle-fests with Aimee Blond and Dee Dee, I mean E!! Hey ladies...POO HAIKU!!! Anyway, it wasn't a completely wasted trip, even if Amy made me pose for a picture with David Hasselhoff. Ok, we're a little behind on the blog, but we were on vacation last week. We are rested up and getting ready for the Holiday Season!! Before we know it Black Friday will be here. Don't forget, if you're local, stop by the store the day after Thanksgiving and sample some of Amy L's home baked goods, hot cider and hot chocolate. We'll have holiday music playing on the radio and holiday TV specials on TV!! Get a head start and beat the crowd, or shop online! In the meantime, we are celebrating WAVE 104.1's 22nd birthday Friday at the Boathouse on 501 in Myrtle Beach. It's an 80s theme party with a contest for best 80s costume, a live 80s cover band, and drink prices form 1984!! Ok, I have finally come back to reality after the most amazing experience of my life!! Of course I was excited to see Queensryche, my favorite band, when they came to Myrtle Beach. I was excited about meeting new fan club members and reconnecting with old friends. But the real excitement didn't start until 1 hour before the doors opened and Amy L handed me a pair of meet & greet passes, AND jury selection passes!!! For the non-Queensryche-freaks, that means we got to be part of the show...on stage...WITH THE BAND!!!!!! For one whole song, we got to stand on stage as members of the jury in the second set of the show, Operation:Mindcrime II, for the song Hostage. If that wasn't thrilling enough, we got to meet the band after the show. And they were very gracious and talkative and took as many pictures as we wanted. Scott Rockenfield(drummer) remembered us from when we set up our Rockenwraps account as a dealer. Geoff Tate(lead singer) said he wanted to make sure he had time to come by and check out the store the next time he is in town. Now, from most rock stars, I would just brush that off as being polite. But these are guys who follow through with what they say! And you think that's the end of my excitement? Oh no, my friends, there is more yet!!! On the Thursday morning after their show here, I got to spend 30 minutes on the phone with Geoff Tate interviewing him for my friend's website!!! Well, Amy C & I have been back from Vegas since Saturday afternoon and we are just about settled back into work.
What an incredible time we had. Our post last week just touched upon a few of the things we found this trip. There is a new line called ROCKSTALGIA. This features bands/artists like Dokken, Keel, Y&T, Steelheart, Winger, Pat Travers, Stephen Pearcy,Sweet, Jackyl, Enuff Znuff and my favorite ZEBRA!!!We are hoping these will all be in with in the next month or so. So, stay tuned!!. We really had a "RockStar " week. The first night we were there we went to see THE FIXX @the Hard Rock. We got some great pictures. They remembered us from the Myrtle Beach show & hopefully will be back.
Monday was the start of the tradeshow, imagine our surprise when we got to one of the booths to find KIP WINGER (still lookin' FINE!!). We were able to meet and talk to Don Dokken, Ron Keel and again my favorite Randy Jackson (from ZEBRA). We were able to catch with our old friend Stephen Pearcy and our new friend Chip Znuff.
Tuesday night we partied at The Joint at The Hard Rock with Randy, Ron, Stephen, Metal Mike, Chip, Don and Jon Levin(from Dokken)along with our buddies Aimee, DeeDee, Matthew, George, Rick ,Stewart & Heather. For some reason we even took a limo back to the hotel.

WOW!!! First day done at the Magic Show and boy have we found some cool stuff!!! Just a little preview... How about Winger, Keel, and Zebra T-shirts for starters? Love Jolt Cola? Well now you'll be able to show that love with a Jolt Cola T-shirt!! And we found some incerdible belt buckles...Star Wars, Mullets Rule and much more!! There's still a lot to see today, since we spent so much time hanging out with Kip Winger and Ron Keel at one of the booths yesterday!!! Today we're gonna see Stephen Pearcy(formerly of Ratt), hopefully he'll remember coming to our store last year!!! We'll have pics up soon!!! Until then, as always, ROCK ON from Vegas!! --Amy & Amy

Well, what a night!! After a few bumps in the road, our karaoke contest got underway and was a smashing success!! Congratulations to Sully, our Grand Prize winner!!! We had some very talented and enthusiastic contestants, and the crowd at Broadway Louie's loved it!! Thank you to all who participated. Thank you also to Broadway Louie's for having us, and especially to Broadway Jake who helped us scramble together and make it all work. And of course to the House of Blues, and our "celebrity" judges Patti Travasos and Tattoo Slover. We had a lot of fun, and I'll have pictures posted soon. Looking forward to the Poison/Cinderella concert tomorrow night at the House of Blues. We'll see all you crazy 80s metal headbangers there!!! ROCK ON!! --Amy & Amy

It has taken Amy C. & I a couple days to "recover" from the weekend, so this post is a few days after the fact. On August 5, 2006 we hosted our third in store autograph signing with Faster Pussycat and Bang Tango. As some may know, Steven Adler was supposed to be there, unfortunately, he was" indisposed" for both the in store & the show that night. (If you want more info on that, just go to Metal Sludge). Tamie Downe & the boys from Faster Pussycat & Joe Leste and the boys from Bang Tango more the made up for the missing Steven. Everyone got autographs and pictures, we got lots and will put them on the website as soon as possible. A lot of shopping got done, guess the guys needed some new shirts for the road!!! Now comes my favorite part of the day. Amy & I were lucky enough to have dinner with Joe, Lance, Timmy and Jordan from Bang Tango & Chad & Danny from Faster Pussycat. David, Stephanie and Jaime from the store came along too. The drinks were flowing and great fun was had by all!!! On to the show- our buddy Jamie had the PA hooked up and we were ready to rock. The show started a little late, but it was worth the wait. BANG TANGO KICKS ASS. Joe Leste was awesome (and HOT!!!). He can rock the house. I was so impressed. And not just because he wore a RETRO ACTIVE T-shirt for the whole set. One final time, we LOVE Bang Tango. Can't wait to get the new CD. As not to disappoint, a Guns & Roses set was performed, as Radlers Appetite. TOO funny. Faster Pussycat was next. The fans were happy. I heard all my favorite Pussycat songs. The new stuff wasn't bad either. I still need to check out the new CD all the way thru. After the show, we continued to party with and like rock stars. On to the the strip club!!! Sunday morning came way too early. By mid afternoon, a few of the guys were on their way over for a little BBQ at our house. We had a very enjoyable afternoon with Chad, Danny, Sean and Chip Z'nuff from ENUFFS Z'NUFF. Chad and Sean are the karaoke kings!! Anyway. We had so much fun with everybody over the weekend. We made some great new friends. Come and check out Chad & Seans other project, STIMULATOR and Danny and Chad's side band MOTOCHRIST. We have CD's for both at the store. Amy & I actually saw STIMULATOR last summer open for DURAN DURAN up in VA, they were excellent. I am working on getting both Faster Pussycat and Bang Tango t shirts for the store and the website. Joe showed me the picture that will be on the t shirt, those shirts are gonna be cool. So, stay tuned!!! That's about it for our weekend with the "rock stars" . The waiting is finally over. Yes, that's right, shopretroactive.com is now back in business!!! The shop link has been enabled on the homepage and the store is live. However, not all items have been added to the store, we are still working on that. New items are added every day, and we are still working on our e-mail database, so no newsletters yet. For those of you who are patiently and diligently waiting for the online store, DON'T GIVE UP ON US!!! We are SOOO close to being ready to go live. Welcome to the new website!! We are still tweaking out some of the details, but the new website is here!!
